How to Create Custom Fields in Chargebee?

In this guide, we will explore how to navigate and configure custom fields in Chargebee. Custom fields are used to store data for fields that are not available by default. Once created, these fields can be added to hosted checkout pages and invoices, and accessed via the web interface or API.
Access Settings:
In the navigation bar, click on Settings.
Select Configure Chargebee:
Under Settings, select Configure Chargebee.
Navigate to Custom Fields:
In the Configuration page, click on Custom Fields.
Explore Data Types and Modules:
You will see different data types for your custom fields and tabs that denote the different modules under which the custom field will be created, such as Customer, Subscription, Coupons, etc. You can also create custom fields under item families, items, or at price point levels.
Create a Custom Field:
Let us see how to create a custom field under Customers of type Single Line Text:
Click on Single Line Text under Customers.
Enter the name of the custom field. The API name will be automatically populated.
Enter the minimum number of characters if needed.
You can also choose to add a description.
Decide if this custom field needs to be a mandatory field.
Click on Create and Save to finalize the changes.
