How to Create a New Subscription in Chargeby

Subscriptions connect your customers to your products or services on a recurring payment basis. In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps to create a new subscription in Chargeby.

Steps to Create a Subscription

1. Access Subscriptions:

   Click on Subscriptions, then select Create Subscription.

2. Select a Customer:

   In the Pick a Customer dialog, choose the customer record.

3. Select a Product Family:

   Choose the product family from the plan's drop-down menu for which you are creating the subscription.

4. Add a Plan:

   Click Add Plan and select the desired plan. The Add Plan dialog will display all existing plans and add-ons for selection.

5. Configure Plan Details:
   • Select the currency and billing frequency of the plan, then click Add.
   • If price overriding is enabled, edit the plan's price as needed.
   • Change the plan or frequency if required.
   • Add recurring add-ons, charges, or coupons to the subscription.
6. Set Billing Information:
   • Under the Billing Info section, set the subscription start date.
   • Use the Billing Cycles field to determine how many times a customer will be charged. You can specify a different value than the one configured in the plan.
   • The Auto-Collection option decides if payments for invoices generated for the subscription are charged automatically.
7. Configure Invoicing Options:

   In the Invoicing Options section, choose to generate an invoice immediately or add to unbilled charges.

8. Enter Shipping Information:

   If dealing with shippable physical goods, the Shipping Address section captures the shipping information related to the subscription. You can apply the customer's billing address for shipping or add new shipping address details.

9. Review Charges:

   Click See Breakdown to view the complete breakdown of immediate charges.

10. Create the Subscription:

    Click Create to finalize the subscription. Review the summary and proceed as needed.
