Ready to launch or clone your Chargebee site? With ChargeBee's transfer configurations, you can move your tested setup to your live site in just a few clicks, avoiding manual copying and hassle. This guide will show you how to transfer configurations between two Chargebee test sites, perfect for cloning your setup or syncing changes across multiple environments.
Saves time and minimizes errors by avoiding manual duplication of your setup.
Especially helpful when you're ready to go live after testing.
Before you begin, ensure you have admin access on both the source and destination Chargebee sites. Only admins can initiate and complete configuration transfers between sites.
Navigate to Settings on your Chargebee site.
Click on Configure Chargebee.
Scroll down and click Transfer Configurations.
Your current site is automatically selected as the source. Choose your destination from the drop-down menu.
If your destination is a test site, you can choose to Retain or Delete existing data. For live sites, the Delete option is disabled for safety.
Select the settings and modules you wish to transfer. Note that some modules require manual setup or support intervention.
Click Proceed to validate your selections.
Review the summary of your configuration transfer, divided into categories: All Configurations, Will be transferred, Can be transferred, and Will not be transferred.
Resolve any errors in the Will not be transferred section, or remove items with errors and proceed.
Click Proceed to transfer.
View the confirmation message displaying the total number of configurations successfully transferred.
Click on Show Configuration to see the list of configurations that were added, modified, or skipped.
This process is not reversible. Once configurations are copied, you can't undo or roll them back.
Customer, subscription, and invoice data are not transferred. Handle these via separate migration tools or manual processes.
Advanced billing features and third-party integrations may require manual setup or assistance from Chargebee support.
Draft configuration changes are treated differently; only finalized configurations are applied.
Custom fields aren't moved during the transfer. To publish to live, use the Publish to Live button on the Custom Field Settings page.
