In this guide, we will learn how to configure language settings in Chargebee. This includes activating customer-facing languages, personalizing translations using a language pack, and setting a preferred language for each customer.
Navigate to Settings.
Click on Configure Chargebee.
Select Languages.
Chargebee supports six languages by default: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese. To add another language:
Click Add.
A pop-up will appear, prompting you to either enable draft mode or activate the language feature.
We recommend starting with the draft mode, which allows you to preview email notifications in the new language before they are activated.
Click Add Language.
For activated languages, you have the option to download the language pack, which includes ready-made translations. To customize the content:
Edit the CSV file.
Upload it back to Chargebee.
Upon hitting Download Language Pack, an email will be sent to you with the language pack for the languages you have activated.
Once the language is activated, you can assign it to a customer:
Navigate to Customer.
Click on Create Customer or modify an existing record.
Scroll down to find the Language option.
Select a language from the list of activated languages.
All customer-facing elements such as the checkout, self-serve portal, invoices, and emails will be in the preferred language chosen here.
Thank you for watching.
