How to Create Add-ons and Charges in ChargeBee

In this guide, we will learn how to create add-ons and charges in ChargeBee. Let's get started!

Creating Add-ons

Add-ons help you define additional products or services that you want to sell to your customers on a recurring basis along with your plans. Follow these steps to create an add-on:

  1. Click on Product Catalog.
  2. Select Add-ons.
  3. Click on Create Add-on.
  4. Select the product family to which you want to associate this add-on.
  5. Enter the add-on details.
  6. Click Create. The add-on is successfully created.
  7. In the Pricing section of the add-on details page, you will see all your currency and billing frequency combinations in which you might sell this add-on.
  8. Click Set Price and enter the pricing details.
  9. Select your preferred pricing model from the drop-down menu.
  10. Once done, click Create.
  11. Similarly, set the price for other currency and billing frequencies in which you are selling the add-on.

Creating Charges

Charges represent products or services that are non-recurring. For example, you could be providing implementation support that is chargeable once during the initial onboarding. Follow these steps to create a charge:

  1. Click on Charges from the Product Catalog.
  2. Click Create Charge.
  3. Select the product family from the drop-down menu.
  4. Enter the charge details.
  5. Click the Create button.
  6. The Pricing section displays all the currencies that are configured in your ChargeBee site. Billing frequencies are not displayed because charges are non-recurring.
  7. Set the price for the currencies in which you are offering this charge.
