How to Create and Configure a Coupon

In this guide, we will explore how to create and configure a coupon with various discount types and settings. We'll also cover coupon validity and duration.

Steps to Create a Coupon

1. In the navigation bar, click on Product Catalog.
2. Under Product Catalog, select Coupons.
3. In the Coupons section, click on Create Coupon.
4. Start by entering a name for your coupon.
5. In the Create Coupon form, an ID is automatically generated, but you can choose to change it if you wish.
6. You can also have a separate invoice name for the coupon.

Discount Types

• Percentage: This coupon deducts the specified percentage amount instead of just an amount from the invoice.
• Fixed Amount: This coupon can be created to deduct a specific amount.
• Offer Quantity: These coupons provide a discount based on the number of units sold and can be applied to subscriptions associated with per-unit plans.

Coupon Duration

• One-time: Can only be used once in a subscription and cannot be used again after being redeemed. Once the discount is applied on the initial charge, the coupon will no longer be applicable.
• Forever: Do not have an expiration time set, and the discount will be applied as long as the subscription is active.
• Limited Period: Have a fixed time duration. Once this period is over, the coupon can no longer be applied to a subscription. Enter the duration value based on the duration type chosen above.

Coupon Validity

1. Select the start date in the Valid from field. The coupon will only be active starting from this date, and until then, its status will be marked as Future.
2. Select the expiration date in the Valid till field. After this date passes, the coupon becomes invalid.
3. Click Apply to confirm the date.

Redemption Settings

• Set the number of times a coupon can be redeemed using the Maximum Redemptions field. If a coupon has maxed out the number of redemptions, it becomes void and can no longer be used for new signups.
• When you select one-time coupons previously, you can provide a redemption limit per customer.
