In Chargeby, the customer object is essential for storing and managing the subscriber's billing and contact information. This guide will walk you through the process of creating a customer using Chargeby's interface.
Navigate to the Customer Tab:
Go to the Customer tab and click on Create Customer.
Enter Customer Details:
On the Create Customer page, fill in the necessary customer details.
Add Additional Contacts:
If your customer wants someone else from their team to receive billing-related emails, use the Add Additional Contacts option. You can add up to a maximum of 10 additional contacts.
Customize Language and Currency:
In the Essentials section, customize the customer's language and currency preferences.
Set Auto-Collection Status:
The auto-collection status determines whether subscriptions linked to the customer are charged automatically using the card-on-file. If auto-collection is off, subscriptions will not be charged automatically, even if the card is present. When auto-collection is on, an attempt to charge the card will be made.
Enter Billing Address:
In the Billing Address section, provide the customer's billing address. This information is linked to the customer's credit card for online subscriptions. Ensure to specify the billing country to determine if tax needs to be applied.
Tax Exemption:
If applicable, select the This customer is tax-exempt checkbox to exempt the customer from paying taxes.
Create the Customer:
Once all information is entered, click Create. The customer is now created.
To the right of the customer profile, you'll find various actions you can perform related to this customer.
